6mm Opener Measurement Tool – This little gem is necessary in order to gain accurate measurement of 6mm opener shims because the shim ID (inside diameter) is too small for a standard micrometer to fit inside.
To properly measure a 6mm opener shim:
- Zero your caliper or micrometer over the tool
- Insert the tool in the bottom of the shim and measure from the end of the tool to the top of the shim
- Resulting reading in mm is the size of the shim
